Garlic Mushrooms

3 Tbsp              Unsalted butter

2 Tbsp              Vegetable oil

4 cloves            Garlic, sliced

¼  tsp               Crushed red pepper

8 oz                  Mushrooms, sliced

                        Kosher salt, to taste

                        Black pepper, to taste

 

In a medium saute pan over medium/low heat, add oil and butter, allowing butter to melt.  Do not burn the butter.  Add the crushed red pepper and garlic and cook slowly.  Turn heat down to low, do not let the garlic burn.  Cook the garlic till tender, about 4-5 minutes.  Add mushrooms, sautéing and coating all slices with the butter/oil.  If it’s too dry, add more oil or butter.  Bring heat back up to medium/low and saute mushrooms till tender.  About 7-10 minutes.  Add salt and pepper to taste. 

 

Serving suggestions: This can be used as a topping for pizzas, steaks, or just a simple side dish.
